Many of the Mom's and Dad's on here are joining in to try and get better quality TV for our Children. Please take a moment to click on this link http://www.congress.org/congressorg/directory/congdir.tt to look up your Senator and representatives and write to your Senator concerning this matter.
We have provided a sample letter for you, with sample paragraphs that you may wish to use, just pick and choose and copy and paste the paragraphs you feel strongly about and feel free to make any changes you would like or simply get ideas to write your own letter in your own words, also this letter addresses several issues that Christians are concerned with, so you can edit as you wish:
When the new FCC Chairman, Julius Genachowski, was being questioned by the US Senate at his confirmation hearing, he promised the FCC would enforce the broadcast decency law.
And last year the Supreme Court AFFIRMED the FCC's legal right to enforce the broadcast decency law.
Yet today, the FCC is sitting on a BACKLOG of 1.6 MILLION indecency complaints from American citizens -- and thus far has REFUSED TO TAKE ACTION!
This is proof positive that the FCC is asleep at the switch -- AGAIN!
TV is so indecent today, please help us in the fight to get decent good morals and programming back on TV. Family TV would help to change everything in the US, less violence and so much focus on teaching criminals how to beat the labs and forensic evidence, seems the government would want this type of thing kept top secret. But TV continue to even teach people how to get by with crime.
These changes in curbing so much focus on "guts & gore" types of shows would lower crime and even help the youth to grow up with mentally healthier attitudes.
It would also helpful if the government would help to encourage the news media to also focus on a few "Good News" stories on each broadcast, the U.S. has became a very depressed population while sales for depression medicine continues to soar. This is what our teens are facing and they are even depressed feeling that their future is bleak in such a troubled world.
Why is it the media feels that all people what to see is bad things and horror stories and shows, it is making our population sick. Some people have became so depressed they do not even want to watch the news anymore. What is it going to take to get this government to wake up and realize how much influence TV has on the minds of America.
The government needs to understand that sex, violence and the way they portray drugs and promiscuous sex as being cool to teens like the show "Skins" on MTV and so many other shows as well; these are targeted to our teens and has lead to a huge decay in the United States. Kids learn what they live and grow up on.
If we can reverse the poor quality of TV, we can reverse the huge impact that TV is having on our population in this great country of ours.
We are tired of TV brainwashing the minds of our youth and then people wonder what is wrong with the world today, turn on the TV and really watch and there you will find your answer. But it is up to the government to enforce the FCC laws.
ABC Family Channel's "Pretty Little Liars" program that airs on Monday evenings at 8:00 ET (7:00 CT). This show is extremely graphic in its social portrayal of sexual activities among teens and its casual approach to one night stands, underage drinking, drug use, lies, stealing, betrayal, adultery including a student/teacher relationship and homosexuality.
I also oppose the mockery of Christianity promoted during this program.
Also why is it many dare to mention the name Jesus or God, even our President and his wife did not include Jesus in his own birthday celebration or even mention the word "Christmas", however he claims to be a Christian but in "his" country Jesus cannot attend his own birthday celebration? A true Christian never puts their Savior on the back burner!
However, we know that Santa will get to stay because that brings money to the economy and tax dollars, so I don't think we will ever see him booted out. It is "Christmas" not "Saint Nick Day"! No wonder kids in this country are so very confused, in this country we celebrate the largest holiday of the year "Christ" "Mass" which historically it was first called and then over the years it was shortened, but now Christ Jesus is not allowed to attend his own celebration, how confusing for Children and now TV is promoting their gender confusion as well.
We have freedom of religion laws but somehow the Christians are being censored and people are trying to force change on their Christ Mass celebration and also censor what people can say and do in public places. They can't pray or mention God or Jesus, however colleges can have their wiccan groups and nothing is done about that.
On TV much about Jesus or God has became "taboo", however the devil is sure out front and center with all the Sodom and Gomorrah day stuff we have all read about in the Bible, it is so very sad to watch all of this going on and this government is letting this all happen. It is all about Sex, Drugs, Homosexuals, and Crime. Today's programming and movies seem to be mostly based on the above list plus subjects on "Evil", "Psychics", "Mediums", Ghost, "Witchcraft ", "Wizards" and their so called magic, which is really "Black Magic". They carefully leave out the fact that magic is referred to in the Bible as being of the devil. The devil was at it even in our day, it was "The Wizard of OZ" and now even Disney has adopted the "Magic" in many of the Children themes. You see all these things are practices of the devils religion "evil", it is being allowed and it is consuming the airwaves on TV and Radio, while Jesus is being pushed out and his children are being censored. If the government wants to see change in this country, they need to understand that this country was once blessed by God but as soon as prayer went out of school, this country has declined and the decay is snowballing to disaster, because this country is trying to reject his son, anyone who does this becomes an Anti-Christ. The Bible was clear on that. It is clear that God is no longer blessing this country. A country without God is a country without "Hope"!
Now they are teaching our children on the so called children and teen channels all about this magic, such as the show about Wizards of Waverly and also not to mention the Harry Potter series along with many more problematic things going in in the media being promoted for children and teens. Ever notice the flippant attitudes on the teen shows and wonder why teens have a lack of respect.
Speaking of no respect, we recently have seen shows that poke fun of Jesus and that is allowed, why? This is so disrespectful to a nation that used to be "One Nation Under God". God said that he would not bless a country that he was not welcomed in and as we can see, he is not blessing this country. There are many forms of devil worship as the Bible explains, which is also in this country considered a religion, however has the government noticed that this evil religion is all over the TV? It is really bad in nightly shows, even kids shows, but nothing is said about that and it continues to decay the youth and our great country.
A country is not going to advance when the youth of today is all about parting, sex, drugs and violence and TV is teaching all these lifestyles and attitudes to the youth along with many of the parents, because they learned much of this on TV. It is time for the government to wake up and put a stop to what TV is doing to this country!
The government knew that even in the Vietnam War that there was a major problem and that was that the majority of our soldiers was either drinking or on drugs. Who were the soldiers? Young adults!
The devil is having a field-day with TV and Radio; his religion is right there for all to see and he gets the stamp of approval from the U.S. government and he is polluting the airwaves and he frankly must be laughing at us because it is right there in your faces and as the Bible says you all have been too blinded to see.
Look at the titles of movies on satellite TV and in theaters and it almost seems that Hollywood is obsessed with "evil". The government keeps fighting evil but allows it to be all over the airwaves to keep making your jobs harder. I think a kindergarden child could figure out this picture, cut off the source....get the evil off the airwaves and you will see a change in this country over a period of time. TV is promoting this and then teaching them how to get by with it, how stupid is that?
One might wonder how much influence the devil is having on the writing of movie scripts and even kids programming and he seems to be making fools of our what used to be a great country, even now he is using our President as a puppet to continue to support all issues that are not a true Christian's point of view, if you are a true Christian, your first loyalty is to your God and then your family and then your job and country, but now he says that we are not just a Christian Country, since when did he get the OK, to take God out of being the head of it, put it to the people to vote if it comes down to it but something has to give.
I feel sorry for all the families of the 911 evil tragedy, as if the devil didn't enjoy that one, but guess what, our president even would allow the very nation that had terrorist to do such an act and then our President is so cold to the feelings of the families that lost loved ones there and to this country; that he would allow them to build a Mosque so near to ground zero. Devil likes rubbing salt in wounds and the President should be ashamed of his actions. He is NOT for THIS COUNTRY! If he lost his entire family in this tragedy, I'm not so sure he would be so gracious to these terrorist.
No, not all Muslim people are terrorist, but we had a man who was born and raised in Pakistan write to our Christian ministry, his parents raised him as a Christian. He now is an evangelist there doing missionary work. He witnessed many killing and beatings there of the Christians and burning of their homes. 4 years ago, he was going to many posting sites trying to get people to write to the president, to tell him to close the borders to the Muslims, because he said that they have been infiltrating our country for years and they do plan an uprising in this Nation to try and take control, he said they have been planning this for years, we explained to him about our freedom laws. I am sure he wrote to the government, but they were even warned about 911 and no one took it seriously.
Our President is not gaining any popularity by condoning and allowing a Mosque to be built in the very face of this horriable tragedy. Let them build it far from this area if they must. I know there are good Muslim people who also want nothing but peace, however, it does not change what happened in our country. I know that years ago in some Muslim areas there were some Christian churches allowed, however, I wonder now if they would allow us to come and build our Christian Churches in their country? Enough said!
How sad this world situation is right now and it will be your children and grandchildren to suffer for politicians who are afraid to really stand up for what is right and they worry too much about the popular vote more than sticking to their integrity and demanding for change and sticking to the older laws that made this a great country. If it's not broke, don't fix it!
You may be surprised of how many young Americans are really wanting change for the better and better TV programming, we are hearing from so many younger parents as well and they are wanting change!
But unfortunately, after this older generation passes on, it may be irreversible because this generation coming up was raised up on TV that is teaching them that Homosexuality, sex, drugs and violence must be cool, because it is all this country is viewing anymore. If they vote all this stuff all the liberals are wanting, I can promise you that this country will never recover from what is happening now, unless this government starts enforcing the laws....NOW, while they have them!
It is no secret when you watch the TV or listen to the radio that the FCC is not doing their jobs and that is good tax dollars wasted. TV is more of a problem than what this government realizes.
All questionable content should be pay per view only or subscription channels only and not in basic TV packages.
That would get a lot of the inappropriate content off of the free channels that comes in basic TV packages.
Please take the time to really observe what Hollywood is producing and exposing to this country and our Children. The FCC needs to enforce the law! We are working hard with the Parents Television Council and One Million Moms, but we need the help of congress.
